Centaur 11 speed front derailleur uses the long-rod design that debuted with the current iteration of Super Record. The longer arm reduces the force required to shift into the big ring, for lighter shifter action. The Centaur front mech is a one-piece steel cage that is more rigid and precise, and is internally contoured to improve performance.
