Begining just alittle upstream from the Olympic Stadium and the British TV icon, the Big Breakfast House, this cyclo-cross route is a favourite of Condor's senior sales advisor and cyclocross racer, Greg Needham. Travelling directly north passing the stadiums and facilities used for the London 2012 Olympics the route huggs the River Lee Navigation, a canalised river used in the 16th century for the carriage of grain to the capital.
Upon reaching Waltham Abbey the route diverts away from the water and heads into cylo-cross territory proper, using old roman roads in the woodland of Hertfordshire.
There are two loops on the ride. The top loop delves deep into Box Wood using Elbow Lane, a fomer Roman Road and rejoins at Cock Lane in Broxbourne. Then heads west into Worlmley Woods part of Broxbourne Nature Reserve and passes Paradise Wildlife Park before rejoing at Cock Lane and entering Lee Valley Park for the journey south to Cheshunt where the ride finishes. From here you can take the train back into Liverpool Street or follow the National Cycle Path south and back to London. There is a small tea room at the end of the ride that sits in the shadow of the Mill just as you enter the Lee Valley Park.
